Sorry about the potato pic, i hope you can still make out what's to see there.

Kinja'd!!!

This is the kind of gizmo i'd love to see in a sports car. I know it's in Ferraris and GT-Rs and their ilk, but i'm talking about small funky types, like the GT86, or the Miata, or the BMW 235i for that matter.

The photo was taken in an 535d GT xDrive. That weighs 2145 kg and has an 8speed auto.

Allanis Morisette day is today.

I wish the BRZ's touch screen had options for this stuff, like a g meter, tire pressure, and all sorts of other stuff. but its really not useful when actually driving the car its just for fun really.

Apparently this can be enabled on any US F10 5-series with some re-coding of the computer. Maybe the same procedure can get the feature to work on the 2/3/4-series?

Lexus LS460's had this back in the day. Not temp but tire pressure, including spare :]

Oh this won't help you a bit during driving, however, racers don't check it during driving either, but before, and after. This could be extremely handy in track day cars, not a coincidence, that almost all racing sims have something along this line included - tire pressure and temp is a very important indicator of the suspension setup and your driving style / deficiencies.

Yeah if it recorded all the data from a lap you could use it to make adjustments to the car without needing to have a computer with you as far as suspension and mechanical changes go. would probably still need a computer to do electronic tuning unless they added that feature in too, but that's just wishful thinking.

how so? everyone (except us) forgets to check their spare tire. I like that they have a 2nd setting for another set of wheels (snow, off road). Just switch and the wheels and hit the 2nd setting.

I didn't mean that as derogatory - they just turn caring about you up to eleven. It can be too much, but you really should not be in a position to complain.

So why don't you make your own. I did! There's an almost endless possibilities with a CarPC. Mine has a 10.4" screen, rotates from landscape to portrait (I prefer portrait for GPS and my main screen)

The plugin developer shot a quick demo of what you have above. It worked so well I never incorporated the TPMS screen in my menus, but if something wrong is detected it pops up and IDs the problem and where. The best part is I can easily set/reset what the thresholds are for the different alarms for hi/lo air or temp.

I'm still building the menu skin for mine that will include TPMS, temp, PSI, and voltage sensors (yellow) for various accessories as well as buttons (red) for switches like lights, windows, sunroof, etc.
